What is an operating system? (OS)

An operating system (OS) is a main program installed on computer with the help of  the boot program. Examples of OS include Microsoft's Windows (Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, etc.), Apple's macOS, Linux, Unix etc. An installed OS works as a platform to all other software (such as MS office, Zoom, medial players etc.) which are installed in that OS.

Why to take backup of an operating system (e.g. Windows 10)?

An operating system actually acts as a soul to the hardware (computer) thus, once an operating system is damaged we are not able to work on that computer any more. To over the issue we need to install it along with all other necessary applications/software to bring the computer to working state which is time consuming and somewhat risky process. Especially if you have purchased your operating system (e.g. Windows 10) and have no backup to license key. 

Thus if we make backup windows-10, it will be precious in case our operating system becomes unstable (due to virus attack or any other reason). The restoration process of the said backup will save our time about 10 times as compared to manually installing windows 10 and all necessary software from scratch. 

How to take backup of Windows 11, Windows 10  for free?

Before taking backup, make it sure that current status of your operating system is fine i.e. your operating system is efficient, healthy and free of viruses. 

It would a good idea to take backup just after the installation of fresh copy of Window along with all necessary software or if you have purchased a new computer/laptop with pre-installed Windows.

Taking the backup of windows 10 for free is very simple procedure. 

You need to download AOMEI Backupper Standard.  It is absolutely free application to backup and restore the windows OS. To download it use following link.

After you have download AOMEI Backupper Standard follow steps below to make backup of your operating system (e.g. Windows 10)

1. Go to Start Menu and search for AOMEI Backupper.

2. Click to start AOMEI Backupper.  In AOMEI Backupper click "Backup" button on left panel.

3. Select system backup option.

4. Set path for backup to store.

5. Click Start Backup button. (Backup process will be started and your PC will restart during backup). It may take up to 1 hour or more depending upon hardware of your PC and applications installed

How to restore backup of Windows 10 (windows 7, Vista) for free?

If the Windows becomes unstable or malfunctioning, it means you need to restore the backup of Windows so that your PC become stable, healthy and efficient again.

To restore backup of your operating system (Windows 10) follow steps below.

1. Go to Start Menu and search for AOMEI Backupper.

2. Click to start AOMEI Backupper.  In AOMEI Backupper click "Restore" button on left panel.

3. Click on Select Image File icon select path to the system backup file. 

(System backup file is the backup of operating system).

 

4. You will have two options to restore backup. i.e. Restore this system backup and Restore a Partition in this system backup.  You can use any option. First option will resore both System Partition & Windows Partition (C drive) however second option will restore only Windows Partition (C Partition). Look at images below to see both options:

5. Simply go with second option as shown in above image and select C: partiton. click next.

6. Select target partition i.e. C partion (where backup will be restored). Click Next.

6. You will be given warning that you will loose data on C drive. Click Ok. Then Click next.

7. You will be shown Operation summary, Click Next.

7. Backup will be started with a dialog box. Choose  option Use AOMEI Window PE Bootable media for the restart mode.

8. Click Ok. Backup restore process will start and your PC will restart during this process. It may take up to 1 hour or more depending upon hardware and size of backup to be restored.

How to Get With holding Tax Certificate for EVO Charji (Internet Device) in Pakistan

Whenever we need to file our tax return by the end of each fiscal year, we need tax certificates from the service providers of mobile phone or internet devices. In Pakistan a most commonly used device for internet services is EVO Charji by PTCL. 

It is somewhat tricky to get the tax certificate for the EVO Charji (PTCL). 

Follow steps below to download the said tax certificate.

  1. Login to https://ptcl.com.pk/Customer/LoginUser

        2.  Select Withholding Tax Statement from Dashboard

  

3.       Select Evo/Charji option

4.    Select MDN Number of your PTCL EVO Charji (from dropdown (Landline/VFone Service*)

Note: In case your PTCL EVO Charji is not linked to your account see steps at bottom of this post

5.      5.   Select duration/period for which the tax certificate of EVO Charji is required.

6. provide code for captcha verification and click inquire tax button. 

You will get tax certificate for your EVO Charji.

I. Visit https://ptcl.com.pk/Customer/LoginUser give your user name and password.

II. Click on My PTCL Service from the menu on left and select Link New Connection.

Install "HP LaserJet 1300" printer on Windows 7 and Windows 8

I have a HP Laser jet 1300 black printer. It was installed over Windows XP, but when i tried to install it over windows 7 it was unsuccessful even I downloaded drivers of HP Laser Jet 1300 for windows 7 from HP official website. Then I tried some other manual ways and was successful.

Here are those steps to install HP LaserJet 1300 printer on windows 7.

1.  Download “upd-pcl5-x32-6.1.0.20062.exe” (download here)

 2.  Plug USB cable of printer to PC.

 3.  Install “upd-pcl5-x32-6.1.0.20062.exe” (this installs two ports for printer but cannot install drivers for printer.) after installation click "Close/OK."

 4.  Go to :   Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers.

 5.  Add printer and locate port for your HP printer, click next.

     6. Select printer “HP Universal Printing PCL (v6.1.0) in printers section. See image shown below.

 7. Next. You can change your printer name.
 8. Next, Finish.

That’s all installing your HP Laser Jet 1300 Printer over the Windows 7…

Dropbox error "no internet connection"

After installing dropbox in Windwos7 64bit i got the error "no internet connection" even my internet was working very well.

I got understand that there is some proxy issue with my internet connetion. This problem generally occurs due to installation of bogus softwares.

I adopted following workflow and issue of "no internet connection was resolved and dropbox worked well.

-->

1. start windows default "internet explorer"

2.Tools> internet options

3. Connection Tab> LAN Settings

4. Under proxy Server, uncheck "Use a proxy server for your lane"

5. Click ok, Ok. exit your internet explorer.

Now try your dropbox, it will work. InshAllah

How to root your android Korean Mobile like LG SU 760.

Rooting your android Korean Mobile like "LG SU 760" is now simple as ABC...

Things to download before rooting.

1. A PC base software to root your device. (such as VRoot, click here to download)

2. Download drivers for your device from manufacturer website of your device.
     So that your PC can recognize your device.
     (Note: If you don't have these drivers, Vroot will normally download it automatically)

Steps to root your device.

1. On your android phone go to settings>Security settings> enable "Unknown Source"

2. On your android phone go to settings>applications>developer options> enable "USB debugging mode"

3. Connect your device to PC using USB cable. (Use good quality cable with tight connections)

4. Install drivers for your android phone on your PC.

5. Unplug your device from PC.

6. Install VRoot on your PC and start it.

7. Again connect your device to PC using USB cable. It ll start connecting automatically as shown in image below.

Connect your android phone to get rooted.

 once it recognizes your device, it will show your device name and "Root" button as shown in image below.

Just one click to root your android phone.

8. Click "Root" and wait. After process completed, device will be restarted. Thats all rooting your device.

How to restore backup of Windows 7 & 8 (Ghost Image backup)

WINDOWS 7 & WINDOWS 8  RESTORE PROCEDURE

(GHOST IMAGE RESTORATION  STEPS)

Follow following steps to Restore you ghost image.

Steps to install/restore ghost image is as under:

(Start from step 6 in Post "WINDOWS 7 GHOST IMAGE CREATION STEPS")

i) After Ghost starts go to "Local > Partition > From Image

ii) locate the ghost images you created for c drive and system drive (1st select image for system drive)

iii) Select your Hard disk from the list where you want to restore your image and press OK

iv) select your desired target partition e.g. "system" and press ok. go to next steps and restore the image on "system" partition. when completed repeat step i-iv for "C drive". 

v) restart your computer. Thats all restoring your Window-7 ghost.

(Note: you can restore C partion only. it will work.)
